Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. After moving to Oxfordshire in the age group of five, Emma attended The Dragon School. From the age of six Emma was aware that she was going to become an actress. For some time she attended the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied dance and acting. Her performances had been in various Stagecoach and school productions when she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) is the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel was cast for the first second time back in 1999. Agents for casting found Emma via her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been cast in these roles. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's film debut. The movie broke all records with regards to the opening weekend and sales, and it was one of the top 2001 films. The film was praised by critics, as were the performances of its three new stars. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British newspaper, was awed by her for her performance. Emma's performance received nominations and won five awards later in the film.
