Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress most well-known for her roles in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Born the only child to Romanian actor Valentin Platareu, Alexandra started her professional career in the show business from a young age. At the age of 16, she reached the age of sixteen, she had secured leading roles in several television dramas. Her critically acclaimed performance in the film made for television Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge from the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also Oscar-nominated. Alexandra is well known for her involvement in many noteworthy projects both domestically as well as internationally.
